Head to New Park Manor for a spa day or if you are looking to dine out for a special event. There are also plenty of other nice places to go including Lime Wood, Chewton Glen, Rhinefield House, Carey's Manor or Pebble Beach at Barton on Sea.

The Smugglers is very good but best to book on the weekend.


The Gun Inn at Keyhaven is good for lunchtime food with open fires and a vast range of whiskeys.


Just outside the village The Beach House is very popular and a stunning setting.


The Walhampton Arms just outside of Lymington does a very good carvery but if you are going on a Sunday book a table and go early.


The Cave is a unique business in Milford on Sea with a multi-purpose use. Created by Jon, it serves as an off-license specialising in premier quality wines, spirits and beers as well as an on-license wine bar and tapas restaurant.




If you like seafood then Verveine has a very good reputation.


Located in the heart of Milford on Sea, Ray’s Italian Kitchen run by local restaurateur, Stacey Crouch is making its mark on this foodie-renowned village in the New Forest.


No trip to the seaside is complete without fish and chips and Mr Pinks in the village are the best and worth the queue and should not be missed. Be careful of winter opening hours when they don't open on a Sunday or Monday.


If you fancy a good Indian meal then Passage to India in Lyndhurst is unsurpassable.


In Lymington there are a number of chains including Pizza Express and Prezzo.





There are several cafe's in Milford, try Polly's Pantry, Hurst on the Hill or Saltwater Cafe and on the front the Needles Eye sells New Forest Ice Cream.  Further afield Drifters in Lymington (open April to end October ) is fab!  Bea the owner is very friendly and the cakes and hot chocolate are great to take away and eat on the Quay.


If you find yourself on the old railway line walk near Helmsley the Old Station Tea Rooms are a must! They are walker and cyclist friendly.
